Having fantastical elements in a game is one thing. How long do you think that iceberg lasted in that area? Because it’s not there now. That isn’t near and is in no way indicative of an arctic region. Near?! An, as in one, iceberg was spotted almost 100 years ago 150 nautical miles NE of Bermuda. The Skeletons, portals, and curses fit the theme of the game - a fantastical take on the Golden Age of Piracy in the Caribbean. What? There is a difference between the fantastical, supernatural, and the absurd. Even without magic icebergs have been seen near Bermuda, rare but still more frequent then any of the above. I see no reason why this magic can't cool down a cursed island/biome.Īccording to Captain Falcore the entrance to the Sea of Thieves lies within the Bermuda Triangle. I know people have discussed this before, but I love the idea of this island being incorporated into the map, where pirates can drink, gamble, play games, buy pets, and have access to their own kind of personal hideout that can be customised - with a room full of different loot types you've collected on display as trophies, bookshelves filled with all the different books you've read on islands, photos on the walls from screenshots you've taken - and peices of the different DLC hanging around, like wandas apron, a tooth from the hungering one, and a mermaid statue. Some new AI Enemies besides skeletons would add a tonne of variety in the game. Defeating their crew would make their ship topple over and despawn, leaving a pile of loot in its place. We've had hints that Rare are working on Mermaids as enemies for future updates, which sounds very cool - but what about some different land based enemies besides skeletons? Possibly AI Pirate crews that have beached ships on the shores and defend new loot types, or Royal Navy frigates that sail the waters and go after any pirate ships they see, dropping a cache of loot when they sink - similar to the skelly ships? I'd personaly love to see a beached gallion sitting on the shores of Mermaids Hideaway, and when I cannon over a hoarde of Angry, grizzled pirates run over to attack. The Devils roar will be coming as a volcanic, boiling region, so why not have a frozen arctic land when you sail far north! New sea life like polar bears and pengins, and ice skeletons as the prodominant AI? Watch out for snow blizzards and icebergs though! Frozen cursed Chests could be found, and players could get a flaming torch to help melt the ice when your ship gets frozen too close to the shores of the islands in the region! I think this sort of land would be a lot of fun to explore. Over that time we've discussed what our thoughts are on the content thats been released so far, and our hopes for future updates. We play on an average of 20-30 hours a week. I love what the devs have been doing, my crew and I have been hooked on this game since the start and we've had a lot of fun grinding to Legends.
